Every one I've seen had the Q-fan (thats what it's called in ASUS terms,
http://www.asus.com/products/mb/qfan.htm) disabled by default. Turning
it on is always an improvement but still the results vary from machine
to machine.
And as is said in my prev. post, ASUS have recently released a bios
update for the pundit-r to improve this function :
