Hi Anders.

You can disable the osd fade-out.
Just edit the osd.xml file.
In my case, it's located at /usr/local/share/mythtv/themes/isthmus/osd.xml
Note that i use the isthmus theme, which isn't the default ;).
Look for <fadeaway></fadeaway>.
