[mythtv-users] Streaming media into mythmusic

Hi,

I'm looking at how to integrate streaming media into Mythmusic. 

I've applied the Shoutcast patches supplied by Michael Sherman to mythmusic
0.15.1 and it works very well indeed. Well recommended, thanks Michael.

Most of the stations I listen to aren't using Shoutcast, they use Windows Media
player <spit> or Real Player.

Is there any work underway to integrate WMP output or RP output into Mythmusic
in the same way the Shoutcast system is? 

Options seem to be to get a DAB PCI card on a cheap and nasty Windows box, run
dabbar and convert the output to a Shoutcast media stream, an interesting
project but rather overkill I feel! This is the technique used by Slimp3, how do
they change radio channels?

Also why aren't the Shoutcast patches integrated into the main mythmusic release?

So many questions, so little time.
