I've made some progress here. The reason I wasn't getting sound on my PixelView card was that the snd_bt87x module was not getting loaded in my modprobe.conf file. I added that and now I get sound when I watch TV on that card.
However, I still have other problems, but that is related to a previous email, so I'll bring that up there.
