  I replaced the DFE530tx with a Gigafast 10/100 card..... works like a champ... odd it worked without Mythtv running.

    What king of hardware are you running?



    This sounds like it could possibly be a network card driver/hardware issue. I have this before where a highly active connection to a NIC can cause the system to freeze up. 



    I would try a different network card.

      I have a redhat9.1 box running mythtv with a pvr-250. I have discovered that it locks up during file transfers when Mythtv is running. If I ftp files fromthe myth box to a windows pc it locks up the myth box unless I shut Mythtv down before ftp'ing. This also happens when using samba to transfer files and during the mythfilldatabase.





      HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I see nothing in any log file that helps me troubleshoot this.
