[mythtv-users] weird - unplug keyboard and stations disappear

I tried actually moving my Mythbox from the basement to our main TV today and 
discovered something.  If the box boots without a keyboard and mouse 
connected to it then I don't have any stations.  When I hit equivelent of "I" 
on my remote it just shows blank and I can't choose any other channels.... 
how odd? anyone else seen this?
