Which should be comletely unecessary :-

       -V  or  --nfs-version
              This  option  can be used to request that rpc.mountd offer certain versions of NFS. The
              current version of rpc.mountd can support both NFS version 2 and the newer version 3.

Why its not using V3 without -V I don't understand - 2 and 3 should
both be offered by default.

Perhaps :-
  grep -r rpc\.mounted /etc

And change whichever startup script to do it.
