Hi,

When I run mythfrontend I get something like this:

2004-02-21 04:48:15 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/sound/dsp'.
audio device cannot report buffer state accurately!
audio/video sync will be bad, continuing anyway...
[snip]
Reading PCM volume: : Invalid argument
Setting volume: : Invalid argument
[last two lines repeated]

When I try to set the volume from within the TV watching interface (the
video is fine) using [ and ], the display says "volume 160%" and then
"volume 0%" and gets stuck on the latter. However, when I go back and
run alsamixer, both the Master and PCM volumes are at 100%.

When I test that same audio device using alsaplayer and an MP3, it works
fine.

I'm using gentoo-sources (2.4.22), I've emerged alsa-driver and
alsa-oss, and emerged mythtv with alsa in my USE flags. FWIW, the driver
for dsp is snd-cmipci.
