[mythtv-users] I can not change channel!!

i am a mythtv amateur.
this problem happens to me when i 'insmod ivtv'
and i dont have the line 'options tuner type=2'
in modules.conf

i have made this mistake the last couple of times that
i upgraded the kernel and recompiled ivtv.
i always manually insmod ivtv to see if it loads properly with the new
kernel, but when i cant change the channel it throws me for a loop.

rebooting fixes it for me because the appropriate line is in
modules.conf
