[mythtv-users] Could we be able to do this

A few quick solutions to your problems.  you can add a symlink in your
mythvideo directory to the spot where you mount your cds, and setup the
appropriate automounter so you can select the video files on the cds, or
if they are vcds use mythdvd --enable-vcd and there will be a vcd
playback option,  (not sure if it works with svcds)

As for making live tv really live, the quick way would be to edit your
menu.xml and change livetv to actually just launch xawtv  or your tv
program of choice, and than just use that.
