Ian,
I had the same problem. I got fed up with the packages constantly
changing and when the process of installing these packages changed as
well, I had gotten fed up for the last time and decided that I would
compile my own drivers. Although I chose to compile my own vanilla
kernel for Fedora using the .config file from the Fedora Sources, you
could always install the atrpm's kernel packages (make sure you install
the source package for the same kerenel if you decide to do so) and then
just compile ivtv yourself. I'm not sure if this is an option for you,
but it will definately save me a lot of trouble as I can create my own
packages and not have to worry about someone else changing the way I
have to install them.
All you would have to do is untar the ivtv packages and do a 'make' and
'make install' and you would be finished. Not sure if this is something
you would want to do, but thought I'd respond and give you the idea in
case it's of some use to you.
