Wow, this has become quite the thread. I have both an
airboard and a RS15-2116 (which I've had in the drawer
for over 6 months now) and I can tell you that the
combination works fine. Basically, I avoid the whole
LIRC/IR issue by using the keyboard inputs and IR
keyboard/mouse receiver. At least that was the initial
idea.

My problem with the 2116 is the limited memory which
is why I shelved it in the first place. JP1 was the
fix, but I just could not get it working with
keymapper despite having reviewed the doco for hours
as well as purchasing a JP1 cable. Then last night
after finally receiving my airboard and trying to get
my ProntoNEO to work with it (it doesn't) I pulled the
2116 out and at first, it didn't work. I then placed a
DVD case underneath the airboard to elevate the IR
transmitter, placed both remotes on the floor facing
each other, approx. 2" apart, and viola! the 2116
learned the codes. I think it picked up about 10
before I got the memory full error.

GRRRR, back to JP1 I guess, although there is a new
program out there that runs on java that I'm hoping
will work for me. It also sucks that the current LIRC
Hauppauge codes overlap my Advent 32" HDTV so when I
hit <enter> the TV's demo screen turns on. Thank God
Jarod came up with an alternative code and mapping.

I hope that helps, keep me posted on your progess. If
this works out I can finally throw my junky ProntoNEO
in the trash and have an easily replaceable $30 remote
take its place.
