I had to make sure the directories existed that it was trying to rip to.
Look at settings, DVD , Rip settings.

However, the only rip I have been able to do is a perfect VOB rip, now I
want to get it into smaller format (divx, or xvid).

Subject: [mythtv-users] mythdvd ripping

I finally have a mythtv running that seems VERY stable (knocking on
wood). With the latest CVS ivtv driver I've been able to record and
watch programs with no lockups, even while pausing, RW, FF, etc. So far
it's absolutely awesome.

DVD rip problem. When I try to rip a DVD I get an error that it can't
find the transcode daemon. In the setup for mythdvd the Base transcode
command is simply transcode. I have both /usr/bin/transcode and
/usr/local/bin/mythtranscode. I believe I have all the requirements met
and installed mythdvd using the --enable-transcode command.

What else do I need to do or what else should I check?

Thanks,
James
