I get it with two PVR-250's which is kind of anoying,
because it's smart enough to know when one or both are
busy recording when I first start watching tv, and it
either uses the other one automatically, or tells me
that both are busy recording. Why doesn't it detect
when it's in use when I'm watching live tv and use the
other one automatically the same way? I'm speculating
here, but I think the code must make a significant
distinction between backend recording and frontend
live tv, which makes this harder to implement...

Besides that quirk, my variation of this feature
request would be to be able to start recording a show,
from the live TV buffer. Here's the situation:

You start watching live tv, a new program comes on,
you watch 15 minutes or so and you think, this is
cool, I'll record it for someone else. Wouldn't it be
nice to be able to go into the EPG, press record and
have Myth just look at the scheduled start time, take
that much out of the buffer, and start a new
recording? I realize the disk I/O to move just a
section of a huge file would probably make this
impossible without dropping serious frames, but it
would be neat. You can always dream... :-) I know, I
know... you can usually find another airing and record
that one... but not always.
