[mythtv-users] Experimental A/V Sync for MythVideo?

I'm considering ways of improving the smoothness of the video with my
MythTV machine.

One option is the PVR-350 route, but that's a little expensive for my tastes.
I'm curious about the Experimental A/V Sync option with nvidia cards, though.

I know it's purely subjective, but how considerable is the difference with
that option enabled or disabled?     What about an nvidia card with that
option enabled vs. a PVR-350?

Finally, does MythVideo (mplayer) have any sort of equivalent feature for
smooth playback with an nvidia card?
