Maybe because it's just an array of "small" (probably 250G) disks, aimed
at the prosumer market.

SCSI is now pretty much considered to be only for enterprise-grade
stuff, and budgeted appropriately - a much smaller market share for a
drive array this small.  If you want scsi (or even faster, fibre
channel), check out a company like nStore - they'll happily sell you a
nice big cabinet of drives.
