There are updated nvidia drivers from ATrpms for that kernel now, or 
did you install from source? Either way, installation is possible. If 
you installed from source, did you also update your kernel-source to 
match the 28.9 kernel?

There were, but they probably went away, in favor of the 28.9 ones.
