The Myth DirectShow filters (http://dsmyth.sourceforge.net) support 
metadata retrieval in an Explorer window from the Myth database.

Note that if your recordings are MPEG-2 (i.e., PVR-x50, M-179), then you 
don't need the filter to play them (though it should still get the 
metadata for you).
