Im using Redhat Kernel 9 (2.4.20-8) as it shipped with no mods at all.

Nova-T card with TDA1004x frontend on a EPIA-M 1000 (nehemiah)

I am 10,000 miles away from my machine and its offline at present but
the modules.conf basically
Looked like this (syntax might be marginal as its from memory

alias char-major-250 dvb-core
options dvb-core dvb_shutdown_timeout=0
add above dvb-core dvb-ttpci
add above dvb-ttpci tda1004x

I'm using a CVS DVB driver from 25 december and everything works just
fine. There was a difficulty
Compiling the driver under Redhat which was sorted with a small patch
from LinuxTV site.

I had a lot of DMA type problems (which these budget cards are prone to)
but found that I could make
A huge difference to stability be modifying the latency settings of the
PCI slot that the card was in.

My BIOS and redhat (howvere that works) decided that the latency should
be 32. I upped this with the SETPCI
Command to 140 and the install was infinitely more stable.

The card is still prone to a bad signal and sometimes locks up when
there are a few problems with the quality
Of the incoming signal. Using DVBTUNE -f (frequency) -m gives an error
rate which, in my experience, if it under
1000 I get no problems at all.

Any more info you need just ask. I spent ages reading up on the various
driver options and found this version
More stable than the DVB-Kernel version. I did have a load of problems
with the 1.0.1 driver release on the
LINUXTV site and had to use the CVS version to get anything like a
useable system

When it all works its very cool and I am chuffed to bits with the output
from my box to a plasma panel. It is
Better than I was getting with a decent Freeview STB ! Good luck
