[mythtv-users] choppy video and audio stream

Hello,

My installation started to work. I have video and audio (mono only)
through mythfrontend, from
live tv once I switch to TV (mono) but the stream is choppy.

When I start live tv, it goes OK for about 25 sec and then it freezes
for a fraction of a sec in every
few seconds (2 seconds mostly, but sometimes more). I tried to pause, so
I get more more behind
the live stream and more stuff in the buffer, but it does not make any
difference. Playback of
recorded stuff seems to be OK, except that there is no sound, because it
seems to try getting it from
Televison (stereo) although the default input is TV.

My hardware is Athlon 2000+ XP, 256MB RAM, Jetway V266B motherboard,
120GB Seagate
hdd, Flyvideo 3000 tuner, Nvidia MX 440 SE/64MB video. The software is
RH9, based on Jarod's
guide. Back end and front end are on the same box.

Hd parameters:

/dev/hda:
 multcount    = 16 (on)
 IO_support   =  1 (32-bit)
 unmaskirq    =  1 (on)
 using_dma    =  1 (on)
 keepsettings =  0 (off)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    =  8 (on)
 geometry     = 14593/255/63, sectors = 234441648, start = 0

 Timing buffer-cache reads:   128 MB in  0.64 seconds =200.00 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  64 MB in  1.15 seconds = 55.65 MB/sec

It seems to be fast enough, so I have no idea what is going on.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Laszlo
