Digikey is a good source.  I went with the Panasonic PNA4611M (IIRC) for my 
reciever diode.  Take note though that the pinout for that one doesn't match 
the schematic.  I ended up using some aligator clips and trying it in various 
configurations until it worked :-)  If you have any questions on this, feel

Can people share their experiences regarding where they have bought the
components for their homebrew IR receivers? Part lists would also be
nice. I've heard of mouser.com. Anyone has bought stuff from them?

I'm in the US, by the way, so I don't think something like Conrad (in
Germany) is a good idea.
