[mythtv-users] OT: Programming a universal remote with an IR keyboard

Jarod,

Although I don't have the Radio Shack remote that you
have, your page on getting that page to work with the
Hauppauge receiver gave me some helpful information on
doing this with my own remote. I have a One For All
URC-6131, and it supports the same features of your
Radio Shack, including programming advanced codes for
those buttons that aren't mapped to RC-5 codes.

As an advantage of using my remote in RC-5 mode (via
the VCR code 0081), I can use my IR keyboard again
without MythTV getting confused (previously I was
using an Irman, and sometimes certain remote control
presses would show up as keys being pressed on the
keyboard).

So, I have to say, your MythTV websites are great,
thank you for your hard work.

If anybody else has a Hauppauge card with thre IR
receiver and a URC-6131 remote, I can post a write-up
that I have done (which I plan on getting on my
website eventually) on how to make it work.
