[mythtv-users] Motion Drag & Low FPS

I've got an Nvidia card and used Jarods HowTo to install MythTV. For a
month, it's been humming along beautifully. Then I took it out of service
for 2 days (just off) and I did an apt-get on the new MythTV Theme
(titt...?) to get it installed. Now, unlike before, I get really bad motion
drag when people or the cameras move onscreen during playback. Once upon a
time, deinterlace fixed this, but it doesn't seem to have any effect now.

I did a grep of the installed nvidia rpms and here's what I got...

kernel-module-nvidia-graphics4363-2.4.22-1.2188.nptl_48.rhfc1.at-1.0_4363-54
.rhfc1.at
nvidia-graphics5328-libs-1.0_5328-54.rhfc1.at
nvidia-graphics-helpers-0.0.3-3.at
nvidia-graphics4363-1.0_4363-54.rhfc1.at
nvidia-graphics4363-libs-1.0_4363-54.rhfc1.at

I thought "HEY what's 5328 doing in there", and I started to "apt-get
remove" it until I saw that it was gonna futz around and uninstall the
myth-suite with it. Since I'm not sure that it's the real problem, I didn't
want to go there quite yet.

I did a glxgears on the box (a P4 1.6ghz with a PVR250, Nvidia MX440 and
512MB Ram) and got ~900 FPS over 5 seconds. I see messages saying that even
1200 is low. I don't know if this is part of the problem either.

My question... has anyone seen something like this? Do I need to dump the
5328 libraries (maybe they got installed with the theme update? I dunno).
Can I dump those libraries w/o screwing up Myth (since the 4363 ones are
there)?

Is the low FPS likely to be the cause of the drag?

Any help would be most appreciated.

PPS. Whoops, one other thing I changed. I wanted to add a new frontend
(the box in question is both front and backend). So I had to change the IP
Addresses in the setup to the real IPs and not the 127.0.0.1 loopback. I
did that at basically the same time as the other stuff (In case it could
have made a difference). But, really... that's everything that changed.
