What makes you think it's a bttv problem?  I can watch TV just fine with
xawtv and tvtime.  Recordings in myth are also unaffected as long as
nothing of significance is vying for the CPU's attention.  It could be
something with bttv, but wouldn't the CPU scheduler or missing config
option seem more likely?  Regardless, I'll subscribe to the v4l list and
see what they have to say.
