540p is the same to your set as 1080i, but non-interlaced (and half the
resolution in each direction). 540pw (as I call it) is the full 1920
pixels wide, which means the pixels are rectangular. Myth can use this
for video output, but the UI and X look bad; you can use the "Use
separate video modes for GUI and playback" setting to do just that.

Modeline "540p" 39.956 960 1020 1100 1184 540 550 551 563 +hsync
+vsync # 39.956 MHz 33.75 kHz 59.94 Hz
# 1920X540, pseudo-1080i, 2x 540p's H timings
Modeline "540pw" 79.912 1920 2040 2200 2368 540 550 551 563 +hsync
+vsync # 79.912 MHz 33.75 kHz 59.94 Hz

You can play around with the 1st (pixel size) and 2nd (start of sync
pulse, i.e. position; move 3rd by the same amound) numbers in the H and
V sections of these modelines. This is the only way to reduce overscan
and stay within the ATSC standard modes for vertical timings. For
horizontal timing, you just need to make sure the first number (pixel
clock in MHz) divided by the 4th horizontal number stays near 33.75 KHz.

Or you can search in your set's menus and service menu for overscan
adjustments and fix it that way.
