[mythtv-users] Concatenating recordings

Hi All,
 
In the UK, most TV channels have the irritating idea of placing a news
broadcast in the midpoint of films. In some cases I have recorded the
halves separately (as they appear in the TV guide).
 
Is there any way to join the recordings so I can do manual editing and
then crop/transcode?
