The one reason SATA is a definite bonus (as I imagine you all know) is that 
the cables are *much* smaller and easier to route, which is a godsend in a 
small case - I hope to move to SATA in my frontend at some point. My only 
gripe is that the cables supplied are usually far too long - the ones I was 
given with my 3ware must be about a metre long which was twice as long as 
they could conceivably need to be even in my huge 4U server case. You can 
buy shorter ones, it's just a little irksome!
