Sure. There's no HOWTO but here's a few bits and pieces.

Firstly you need LIRC working. http://www.lirc.org
Your distribution probably has LIRC modules packaged or part of the
kernel or they're available from atrpms or similar.

Next you need an lircd.conf file, which maps IR codes to events. That
file is specific to your remote control. There are a bunch of contributed
files at the LIRC web site. Here's the TiVO series 1 and 2 remote files:
http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/tivo/

Finally, you need to tell MythTV what to do when each event occurs. I
posted my .lircrc for the Tivo to this list a week or two ago. Here's
the URL:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/71582?search_string=tivo%20lircrc;#71582

The file I attached should be saved as ~/mythtv/lircrc.

That file assumes that your MythTV is compiled with native LIRC
support. That's one of the options you set at compile time by editing
the settings.pro file. I would expect that the standard packages of Myth
already have that included. (Matt Zimmerman's fine Debian packages do.)

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you get stuck or need more.
