How about Debian? There are prebuilt packages of Myth (0.15.1) which
work perfectly. They are provided by Matt Zimmerman who is both a
MythTV developer and a Debian developer. 

ALSA packages are standard. XMLTV is standard. Qt is standard.
It's all too easy really.

And apt-get is original Debian technology...
