I just combine the homebrew receiver and transmitter schematics from
lirc.org.  I pick the 2nd transmitter on lirc.org's page because it
doesn't load the serial port as much.  Took couple of hours to make
but works well.

There is no ETA on the transmitter driver as far as i know.  So i
won't hold my breath.
