[mythtv-users] "overscan" the menu screens?

Is there any reason there isn't and extra bit of background beyond the 
readable text / borders in the menus to make it easier to get the readable 
text all onto the screen? Wouldn't this let you make the gui size a little 
too small without having to worry about other colors shining through at the 
edges of the TV? Maybe this is already possible and I'm just asking the 
wrong question.
