I'm really interested in this, too.

There is stil something wrong.
Following the suggestions received in previous messages,
I've learned how to backup the DVDs on the hard disk
using vobcopy -m or dbdbackup -M (the results are identical).
Then I can play the resulting directory with:
xine dvd://absolute/path/to/backup/dir/
The problem is that mythvideo can only point to files,
while DVD backups are directories, so the previous command
can't be used with myth.
I've also tried to do: mkisofs -dvd-video -o DVDNAME.img DVDNAME
but then xine dvd:DVDNAME.img won't play the file
(nor xine dvd://absolute/path/to/DVDNAME.img,
nor dvd:/absolute/path/to/DVDNAME.img)
What am I doing wrong?
