Legalities aside for the moment, it'd be really cool to share sheduling 
across a network of friends - it'd practically eliminate scheduling 
conflicts since you could schedule conflicting shows to different people 
and then syncronise the videos over the network to everyone else's disks.  
If you make sure that only people who subscribe to a channel can get shows 
from that channel then the TV broadcasters should have a problem (of 
course they will complain like buggery just to be difficult).

Of course, technically none of this is legal since you're essentially 
rebroadcasting copyrighted material (even though there is no real 
difference in the end between a mate recording something you subscribe to 
and then letting you borrow the video and you recording something you 
subscribe to and then watching it).  But still a cool idea if the 
legalities could be fixed.
