I'm one of the folks using an MCE USB receiver with a different remote  
(RadioShack 15-2116). Works perfectly with the 0.7.0pre3 lirc release.  
The MCE remotes are pretty damned good (though I like the Digeo/Moxi  
remote even more), though they can't control multiple devices, which is  
why I really like my RS remote (remotes, actually, one controlling 4  
devices upstairs, one controlling 6 devices downstairs).

We had a spare HP MCE USB receiver with no remote at work collecting  
dust, so I commandeered it. =)
