[mythtv-users] Exithing X hangs my machine

When I try to shut down X (either by "init 6" or "init 0" or by
ctrl-alt-backspace), or when I attempt to switch to a virtual console
after X is running (i.e. ctrl-alt-f1), my monitor goes blank, my TV just
flashes spastic colours, and the PC hangs. Nothing will sort it out --
ctrl-alt-del won't make it shut down, etc. I eventually have to hit the
reset button, which I hate doing.

I've attached my XF86Config and my modules.conf in case anyone has some
observations.

System Info:
nvidia geforce4 ti4200, using twinview to get tv-out
hauppauge wintv pvr350 card (not currently using the svideo out on it)
Asus P4PE motherboard
Sound: using alsa with integrated ad1980 chip
sata drive via onboard Promise fasttrac 378 controller

Any suggestions will be gratefully welcomed.
