In order for it to record, it has to know the channel it is
recording from. Re-run the "setup" program and answer "no" to
the first two questions.

Go to Video Sources, enter a name and set the frequency table
but don't enter a zip code then click Finish and ignore the
warnings.

Go to Input Connections and associate the VHS's input with
the new source.

Go to Channel Editor and create a new channel for the new video
source.

You can then setup a Manual Schedule to record from your VHS
channel.
