[mythtv-users] DirecTV PPV?

I'm in the final stages of getting my myth setup going, and was wondering
what the DirecTV folks on the list do for Pay Per View.

mythfilldatabase just put 'Pay per view' in the guide.

I've got a standalone backend box in the basement with three capture cards
(A PVR250 and two M179s) connecting to three RCA DRD435RH boxes, controlled
by serial.

I tried using sony.pl to control these boxes, but any command sent from
sony.pl just powercycled the receiver. The older RCA.pl works just fine.
Assuming someone knows how to get PPV video in the guide, can you tell a
box to authorize PPV over serial?
