[mythtv-users] Stuttering Audio & Video After Channel Is Changed

Since you posted in html format I cannot quote your message but here is what
I found will fix the problem. The audio and video streams from a pvr250/350
do not seem to have a fixed relationship. In other words, the audio sync
wanders around relative to the video. This has been documented elsewhere but
I cannot find the source to quote right this second.

Here is what fixed it for me.

Turn on "use extra audio buffer" and "use vidio as timebase" options in the
tv settings. I have not found that deinterlace has any effect on the
problem.

I suspect if you tune in a channel like CNN that has a scrolling banner on
the bottom of the screen you will see its very jerky. Changing capture
settings did not affect it at all. Setting the above options made it scroll
smoothly. You may also notice that audio only channels (musak channels)
have bad stuttering problems all the time without those options.
