Replying to my own post, the card is announced by Hauppauge here:

http://www.hauppauge.de/files/pr_hauppauge_mce_launch_2003_eng.rtf

It DOES use the Conexant chip, but I believe that it also uses chip(s) that
make it incompatible with the ivtv driver (880 chip? Also possibly a
different
sound chip). Given the date and relationship to MCE in the announcement
(MCE 2004) I believe this board is supposed to be the Blackbird reference
design as implemented by Hauppauge. Guess that makes the rest of the
Blackbird boards on the ivtv wiki suspect as well. Which is not to say that
it might not work some day. Just not today.
