Maybe because it depends on what kind of tv you are displaying the
ouptut of the Pundit.

I have a Pundit too, connected to both a professional 17" monitor and an
rather low-res video only Sharp LCD projector lXV-C1E (currently hooked
up with coax to the Composite output due to long distance..) and it
produces a very usable (say good colour, crisp contrast) picture about
1.8 meters wide on my wall.
The monitor is for daylight viewing and for doing 'computer' stuff on
the Pundit.

For a few months I hopped on the mythtv bandwagon with the Pundit and a
bttv card but since I bought a PVR-250 I split the system in a backend
server and the Pundit as frontend.
Even on the low res projector the images were much better with the PVR
than with the bttv card.
Comparing TV images from a video hooked up to the projector (using this
VCR as a tuner) I must say that the image coming from the Pundit is
fine. The fact that it doesn't do interlace is no issue on the projector
I use. (is this a hardware or a software problem of the SiS chipset or
the encoder ? Most older VGA cards already had an interlace bit, so it
should be in the VGA standard ?)

Furthermore, the Pundit is offered here in Holland for about 150 Euro,
so I don't think it's fair to expect HDTV for that. What about hooking
up Plasma or LCD to the DVI output ?
