[mythtv-users] Encoding into mjpeg and then later to mpeg4

In the Setup you can configure transcoders to go from RTJPEG to MPEG4.
Then, per recording profile, you can set it to automatically transcode when
the recording is complete.  This is niced so that it does not hog CPU
cycles.  So in essence, it will do this during idle time.
