Thinking outside of the box will get you there! I would like to 
encourage you to spend some time and make a turnkey solution for 
daycare. Industry needs it. I don't think this is very OT. New uses for 
MythTV is what will help this project grow beyond what it is now.
I have seen those 4-8 tunner on one card PCI cards, you might want to 
get one and figure out how to make them work. I think that what would be 
ideal for MythTV is if somebody figured out how to let you stream 
mythtv. Right now I am using TightVNC to look at video only, but having 
sound would be even better.
