[mythtv-users] Re: So there already *is* a MythTV wiki - COOL

I agree with you this time ;)

I think the only way we should have an official forum is if there is a
bi-directional link to the mailing list (when it becomes a nice archive
front-end with posting capabilities)

I see:
* email *or* forum being the conversational area; help, chat, ideas etc
full of newbies and RTFM/RTFFAQ answers, OT postings etc
* the wiki being the whiteboard; things get consolidated and refined -
pretty concentrated Myth goodness - can have quiet, mostly harmless
backwaters and obscure corners
* the docs - the current 'reference' material.

But some people like email, others like a web interface.
It's similar to news (nntp - anyone remember that?) and email.

However I think it's inevitable that people will start forums - and
multiple wikis - and personal sites. It's a free internet :)
<bait>(until the US gets its way)</bait>

I do think that we should limit there to being:
* one official email/forum (mythtv-users at mythtv.org)
* one set of dos (mythtv.org)
* one wiki - there didn't appear to be one so http://www.mythtv.info/
sprang up - lets see if it stands the test of time :)

Not everyone will agree but I think it's a reasoned arguement.
