I don't think so. My understanding is, the native mpeg4 encoding yields
the smallest files, even smaller than the mpeg2 that hardware cards push
out.So in practice, it makes no difference. In theory it might even be
slightly worse writing mpeg2.If I'm not misinformed, that is...
