The label on my Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 reads ( I brought from singorepore)

 " PAL-B/G-I-D/K-SECAM
    48139
     REV J352
   Assembled in Malaysia
"

after I peeled off the label, I saw "MIRCROTUNE" on the tuner card. There
is a small label that glued together with
the above label that reads:

" frontend 4049 FM5 AL RF
   Mircrotune 3X8 168 0405
  NL/IF FT LCT FM
  N9 R4 H5 V6
"

I found in ivtv list, and the solution to "tuner=<unknown> (idx=52,
type=-1)" is to install bttv and patch ivtv,
but I have no clue at all how to do the patches.

I used the following to intall IVTV (following Jarod's guide):
# apt-get install ivtv-firmware
# apt-get install ivtv-kmdl-$MYKERNEL
# apt-get install ivtv

Do I have to first remove the ivtv package by #rpm -e ivtv
and then install ivtv's source code, download patches and compile them?

Thank you very much for your help,

Albert
