[mythtv-users] .16 to current CVS causes Complete machine lock.

Hey Kevin,
I agree that a backtrace would be best. And over the last 3 years, I've sent
in many backtraces, the problem I'm having now is that I get total machine
lockup. So I can't really get a backtrace. The only way to actually do
anything with the machine is to hit the power button. It's a complete
lockup.
I've got 2 myth boxes, this one running 2.4.21 kernel the other running
2.4.22. Both of them have been running myth through many versions. I
thought it might be a hardware problem as well, since only one machine was
having total lockup. I've run a plethora of hardware tests today, but I
can't find any failing hardware.
Both machines are running bttv for video capture, Alsa for audio. The
machine that is having the problems has 2 bttv cards. And has been
operational for over 2 year probably close to 3. I've tried to narrow it
down to a specific checkin in cvs hoping that this might help locate the
bug. I understand this is no where near ideal, but the best I can get.

It would help instead of just mentioning this issue to build from CVS
with debugging enabled as per the documentation and try to submit an
actual bug report. I have 0.16 CVS running since 0.16 release and it is
rock solid. You are probably experiencing problems related to your
particular hardware and/or kernel that should be debugged.
