Well if money was no object...

My setup would be very similar to Ya-Fan Li's, execpt I would go with
15k rpm scsi drives such as these,

and I'd have a lot of them, maybe 40 or so, set up in a raid 5 array
(with hardware raid controllers, of course)  Also, I'd run 10GbE fiber
to the backend, as I see no reason why not to with limitless cash.

I'd also get some of those HDTV DTV recievers with firewire out and
figure out a way to get mythtv to use it as input.  (and, if I can't
figure it out I could always hire a team of people to do so with
unlimited money :)  )

I'd also have two slave backends, one for dedicated transcoding, and
another for dedicated commercial flagging.

My hdtvs would all have DVI and/or VGA inputs, so outputting to them
would not be a problem.  I'd prolly go with something like an epia to
get it diskless, fanless, and very small, most likely with no heat
pipes required.  Or, alternatively, I might have one or two of the
frontends be fully functional nix boxes, in addition to a froentend,
and use an athlon xp-m or pentium m and put a good gfx card in, with a
quiet hard disk, and lots of heatpipes.
