Yeah, it works fine. Just make sure you do this from Jarod's guide...
Control Center (off the Fedora/Red Hat/KDE menu), Navigating to Desktop 
→ Window Behavior, and then change the Focus Policy to Focus Follows 
Mouse, and hit Apply.

The only drawback from mplayer is that it briefly opens a window before 
going fullscreen (Anybody know how to change this short of changing 
WM's?). It is a little ugly, but worth it for getting the full menu on 
the DVD's for me.
