I seem to be having a similar problem. I posted this message to the
dev list, (before I saw this thread,) but it didn't seem to get
through (do you need to be subscribed to the list to post to it?)

here it is:

------------------

In the last couple CVSs I've tried, mythbackend runs for no more than
an hour before crashing. As per the the instructions on
http://www.mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-20.html#ss20.2 , I've made a
backtrace (I think I did it right? this is my first time using gdb)
posted here: http://members.dslextreme.com/users/nate_s/mythgdbtrace.txt

It crashes without mythfrontend even being open, if I just let it run.
Furthermore, it spams this:
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]ac-tex damaged at 24 19
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]ac-tex damaged at 26 29
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]00 motion_type at 0 25
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]end mismatch left=29
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]ac-tex damaged at 18 29
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]end mismatch left=76
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]ac-tex damaged at 20 11
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]end mismatch left=644
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]ac-tex damaged at 0 17
[mpeg2video @ 0xb7a35b28]ac-tex damaged at 12 26
into /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log (a file which is now 38Mb)

What seems odd is that it is having mpeg2video errors, but there's
nothing playing or recording.

Furthermore, this gets spammed into dmesg:

ivtv: ENC: User stopped capture.

saa7115: decoder set picture bright=127 contrast=63 saturation=63 hue=0

saa7115: decoder set picture bright=127 contrast=63 saturation=63 hue=0
saa7115: decoder set size
saa7115: decoder disable output
saa7115: decoder enable output

(I'm not sure if something needs to be playing or recording for this)

Any help would be appriciated.
