Thanks Axel. I've tried using nvidia-graphics-switch and rmmod-ing, but
lsmod has never shown that an incorrect nvidia module is loaded anyway,
and there aren't any other nvidia packages installed beyond the current
version that I'm using. I've also rebooted when trying different nvidia
versions, but I can't fix the problem. I'm not sure how to tell whether
the X driver and GLX are the correct versions. Could someone please
enlighten me? Thanks.
I currently have XFree86-4.3.0-55 installed, but don't find any packages
installed with 'glx' or 'GLX' in the name.
In /var/log/messages I still get:
Nov 26 21:10:57 loon kernel: NVRM: client supports wrong rm api version!!
Nov 26 21:10:57 loon kernel: NVRM: aborting to avoid catastrophe!
